"People say they need more training, they need more skills, they need more tools. People believe there's something missing in them that needs to be added before they can make a difference. I'm trying to shift the focus from skills and methodology to issues of the spirit, of will, of courage." AND THIS: "People say that school people don't know what they are doing and that schools should operate more like businesses. Those are expressions of disappointment and contempt, not of care and love and a wish to make things better. Those who want to privatize and commercialize public education...have an economic incentive....
