	<TITLE>Integrating Differentiated Instruction & Understanding By Design: Connecting Content and Kids</TITLE>
	<ABSTRACT>&lt;p&gt;We'll let TLN member Mary Anne tell you about this resource! &amp;quot;Two or three days ago, ASCD's latest book club selection hit my mailbox. Carol Ann Tomlinson and Jay McTighe have collaborated on a great piece -- Differentiated Instruction and Understanding By Design, now together in one volume. I have been reading the book all day at stoplights, while waiting for appointments, while supper cooked. It really is a page turner. The book made me think about how many times we grab onto a new idea in education, only to have it fade away. These two philosophies (they are not &amp;quot;programs&amp;quot; or ways to program instruction but perspectives on the way we approach learning and kids) have shaped my practice over the past 15 years in a major way. They are hard work, but they persist.&amp;quot; Follow this link to read sample chapters from the book &amp;quot;Integrating Differentiated Instruction and Understanding By Design.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
