Teachers Without Borders, an international group of teachers and volunteers in 84 countries, is looking for experienced teacher-mentors who would be willing to provide guidance (online and on-site) for other teachers around the globe. TWB's Teaching Mastery certification program offers professional development "with a global perspective" through an online introductory seminar and five online courses. "The material is particularly adaptable to local contexts and addresses a pressing need for competent, culturally-attuned, contemporary, concise, practical, and accelerated teacher training, leading to student achievement." Our TLN colleague Julie Dermody, who has volunteered for the program, writes that "my teacher leadership role has taken me in the direction of international education and searching for ways that we can truly leave no child behind within our global community. I'm looking at this issue on two fronts -- helping children in the global educational community and helping to educate American students to international concerns and people."
