The SchoolsMovingUp website is a WestEd initiative developed specifically to support low-performing schools as they work to raise achievement of all students. But we'll let you in on a secret -- this is a terrific site for ANY school where teacher and school leaders are looking for bright ideas, research-based practices, conversation-starters for study groups, data-driven reform strategies, etc. We'd suggest you start with the Overview page which offers a succinct summary of the site's contents. There's also a guided tour (cut the audio on). SchoolsMovingUp is a free site -- and if you take advantage of free membership, you'll gain some extra privileges and receive email updates. Among the website's features: Ideas in Action (browse profiles of successful schools, reform ideas, and tips from educators working on school improvement); Tools (easy-to-use tools to guide practitioners through continuous school improvement using multiple data sources); Reading Room (abstracts of linked articles and books offering practical ideas and models for school improvement); Events (info about free online events, including archives of full Web presentations by leaders in the field); NCLB Section (services, articles, tools, and select Department of Education guidance, regulations, legislation, and announcements organized by key NCLB topics.)
