Abstract:

For the last five years, Anne Jolly has worked with teachers in schools across the southeast, helping them organize Professional Learning Teams that regularly and systematically work together to improve teaching practice and student learning. This new "Facilitator's Guide to Professional Learning Teams" (SERVE, 2005) distills Jolly's experience into a practical, step-by-step handbook that can be used by teacher leaders, curriculum coordinators or administrators to establish effective, action-oriented teams whose purpose is to help transform schools into places "where teachers continually learn and grow." A TLN member who has reviewed Jolly's new book writes: "I've heard and read so much about developing professional learning teams but this is the first time I've seen a 'how to do it' book.
