Compared to non-Board certified teachers, teachers who meet the certification standards set by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards are more effective at promoting student academic achievement, according to a new study published in the peer-reviewed journal Education Policy Analysis Archives (EPAA). The study, "National Board Certified Teachers and Their Students' Achievement," is one of only a few that have empirically addressed the value of Board certification.
