Abstract:

This new-teacher mentoring material developed for a telementoring program at the University of Texas offers a succinct outline of research on effective mentoring and includes many useful resources. YOu'll find tips for mentors and proteges, common mentoring mistakes, information about cognitive coaching, ethics, school culture, and balancing a teacher's responsibilities with a teacher's life. Highly recommended for coaches, directors of mentoring programs, mentors, and novice teachers.
